today was the first day without rain! …and we are still in kyoto.. we will stay here until wednesday. after that we might go visiting some friends on the way back so that we will be back by the weekend.. i have a friend in nagoya whom i still know from australia, maybe we are going [...] -
the old capital: day 3
we arrived in kyoto yesterday evening at 7 o’clock. tadaima, my second home in japan (^-^)/ since the weather is still moody we decided to stay here for a few days. we can stay at mayumi’s and fuji’s house. thaaaanks! today we visited a nice temple. later we’ll have dinner with some japanese people… so long. cu tomorrow. ps: [...] -
rain,rain,rain
we’re stuck. it is 9.30am and we are sitting in a manga-cafe somewhere in western japan between nagoya and gifu. we arrived at this place yesterday night at 11pm. we found a nice place for our tent a bit outside of the city. while we were waiting under a roof this early morning, two nice japanese ladies [...] -
6 and a half hours for 50km: the first day
malte and me started our 12days-hitch-hiking tour. it is 1:30pm and it took us more than 6 hours to go around 50km! no problem though, we already had a lot of fun: after waiting for about 40min. three young professional baseball-players gave us a ride. as they asked us if we brought a lot of money [...] -

HTC 2006
HTC war am 14. und 15. Oktober hier in ARI, mit anscheinend etwa 1300 Menschen. Es gab Essen von Participants aus Indien, Bangladesh, Cameroon, …; es gab Tänze und Gesang aus vielen Kulturen; viele Produkte aus ebensovielen Ländern im Bazaar; ein Kinderprogramm (dafür war ich zuständig); und vieles mehr! Gentechnisch verändertes Saatgut und Patente auf das Leben
Aufgrund zahlreicher interessanter Erlebnisse und Informationen habe ich mich selbst gezwungen, einen Bericht über Gentechnik und Landwirtschaft zu schreiben. Bzw. “Genetic Engineering –> Genetic Modification”. Auslöser war ein Vortrag von Paul McCartin, Australier, der mittlerweile seit 25 Jahren in Japan lebt und seit 3 Jahren speziell an diesem Thema mit führenden Wissenschaftlern aus der ganzen Welt [...]
